SAVE THE PLOT

Digging for victory at Skimmingdish Lane

This sad little section deals with our 'correspondence' with the church, their letter threatening financial ruin if we didn't vacate our plots, and some of our press cuttings

One of our plotholders, Pauline, wrote to the Bishop of Oxford,
the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Prince of Wales about our plight:

However, the church was not for turning, and sent us this letter from their solicitors instead.
We did write to the church, several times, and to several different departments.
None of them replied or asked to meet with us to discuss the problem.
In fact, at about the same time the Right Reverend Richard Harries responded formally to Pauline (after letters to him from HRH and Dr Rowan Williams) his solicitors were drawing up, or had drawn up, this lovely letter:

One day I will put all these cuttings and letters in order. For now I just need to get em on the web:

The Bicester Advertiser and its sister paper, the Oxford Mail, have both carried supportive stories about us, and the the threat of legal action from the solicitors who work for the diocese to get us off the land. The Adver even carried an opinion piece about the church getting its facts wrong re the designation of the land, and a letter supporting us - feel free to write more letters to them about the subject...

But first, our latest publicity, or some of it, from the front page of the Bicester Review, and Garden News, the weekly bible of gardeners in the UK:

There are many more letters, press cuttings and links to online stories that I need to get onto pages, but in order not to overload browsers, that is it for this page. Click here for more coverage and correspondence
